What is the order of importance,
and why are we all about it?

 
 

Step 1: SELF-LOVE


OXYGEN MASK ON YOURSELF, FIRST.

Women are trained - actively, or passively - to take care of others, to be selfless, to give and to nurture. Self-love is intangible. Unlike an oxygen mask, it doesn’t have a physical presence. Neither can it be bought. Self-love is a constant work-in-progress. It isn’t selfish or a narcissistic trait. Instead, self-love prepares one to care, love, and provide for his and her family, friends, and community.

 

Step 2: SELF-CARE


PERMISSION TO PAUSE.

A little less complication than self-love, self-care can be seen, touched, bought and made. The bare basics include: your physical health & your emotional health. A fitness regime, healthy eating, taking care of your physical body, and your thoughts also call for commitment and time.

 
 
 

Step 3: GROW


change is inevitable growth is optional.

As we grow on a personal level, we begin to feel more passionate about life. Both self-love and self-care results in one’s desire to grow to become wiser, more vibrant, authentic, spontaneous, and wholesome. Growth comes with planning and productivity. By developing new habits, routines and learning new skills, we grow. Growth can be uncomfortable and scary, but it comes tremendous rewards that are well beyond the financial.

 

Step 4: GIVE


COS WE’re HUMAN.

As human beings, we have the innate need to contribute to those around us. Think about the time 5-year old you gave an extra lolly to Suzie, and how you felt good when she smiled. Donating, volunteering and giving back to society are all ways to give. Start small. Steps 1-3 calls for you to give to yourself. From here, give to your family, your friends, and then - your community. You matter. Your love, your deeds, your influence, your legacy, it all matters.
